MIM is a metaverse swarm for building virtual artists, launching NFTs, releasing music and sample packs.
MIM, built on the Solana blockchain, is a community of music producers, recording artists, visual artists, video makers and designers collectively producing content engaging with the metaverse. Primarily realised in the form of virtual artists, sample packs/producer tools, releases, clothing and NFTS, the community forms a larger swarm where tasks are undertaken in clusters to evolve beyond the traditional means of cultural production.
Centred around our MIM token and Discord, the focus is to dissolve the currently alienating limitations of music-making and build a collaborative creative environment where all ideas are valid and taken into consideration. The MIM token is at the centre of this, a medium of exchange whose utility will enable activity and engagement to be rewarded.
As we begin to realise the first community driven virtual artists, our intention is that their presence reaches beyond crypto and the blockchain and engaging and disrupting the wider cultural sphere.
Whilst the virtual artists face outwards, the foundation of our community is built upon advancing the skills, ambition and creative potential of all swarmers. This will concern the many facets of any artistic production - be it technical skills, critical and contextual relevance and awareness, ability to communicate ones ideas fluidly, and piecing together content that may traverse many mediums. There are many different roles needed to create a virtual artist. A virtual artist requires music, visuals, styling and marketing. For example, if you are good at making memes that can also be a useful skill for a virtual artist creator.
MIM will donate MIM tokens based on the quality and category of your contributions. You are not be guaranteed a reward for all your contributions related to a virtual artist, since contributions will require their own selection process. The donations will come from the contributor fund that is issued on an annual basis.
The profits from a virtual artist will be divided to benefit the swarm and each individual creator. This means that all profit from a virtual artist (NFT's, merch etc) will be divided per project. You will also receive a MIM token donation for your contribution. This donation will come from the contributor funds.
There's many ways of supporting a virtual artist. You can buy its products (NFTs, music, merch etc), make memes, spread the word about the artist or contribute to the creation of the actual virtual artist.
MIM aims to provide our community with the tools to initiate the creative process and nurture activity within our ecosystem. To build out a complete metaverse of virtual artists we need to facilitate producers, artists and creators to learn, develop their skills and meet likeminded swarmers.
MIM is working with several producers to offer MIM sample packs in our upcoming member area. With our sample packs we want to provide the highest quality, original samples, easily useable by all levels of producer. We aim to cover many genres with a focus on commercial leaning music such as pop and hip-hop.
If you get selected to release a sample pack with MIM you will still hold all the rights to your samples under our custom license agreement. This means that it’s royalty free for small productions and small artists but you will receive all the royalties on placements on major labels and major artists.
All content MUST be 100% original and made by the creator. We reserve the right to legal action should we find plagiarised content in the application. Please do not submit samples that are currently on sale via other platforms or that have been used in other commercial use packs.
Format — please submit all files in WAV and keep your file-naming consistent. Please use a logical and understandable descriptive system (eg. “piano_loop_Amin_140bpm”)
Content is inclusive, inoffensive and culturally appropriate.
Content should aim to be — inspirational, engaging and adding value to other producers.
The winning submission will require the producer to agree to assign the loops as ‘royalty free’, for use by the community and wider public

There are no strict requirements on what constitutes a sample pack but we are aiming to receive around 20 loops, melodic or percussive. If you are creating one-shot sounds (drums, percussion or fx) as a component please aim for towards 50 sounds.

MIM Swarm is open for any new producer or artist that wants to contribute. We have therefore an open submission policy and you can submit your work and we will listen to it and see if it meets our quality standards.
A swarm in our terms is a loosely formed group of nyms or pseudonyms acting together for a common goal. Our swarm will focus on the metaverse, a digital space where you have NFT’s, virtual reality, social media and augmented reality. We see our swarm as an attempt to build a new structure for releasing music and a new way of experiencing music and artists. By creating a swarm that manages virtual artists, sample packs and producer teams we are capturing the value of the whole swarm through our token MIM. While classic record labels and companies capture their value through stockholders, those stockholders often have little creative value to contribute. We believe that creators should have a large share of the profit of their work and consequently prefer the use a swarm structure in which many members are benefitted.
MIM has adapted parts of Rick Falkvinges' "Swarmwise" and merged it with a solution that will start out more as a managed structure and eventually merge and become 100% community owned. This is to assure that the project will not be hijacked through voting or large holders of MIM.
Our initial starting point will be to form the first team to create a virtual artist. In a swarm one entity can have multiple roles: for example, the creator of one artist can be the fan of another artist, a moderator of a group and also a team leader in another group. One can morph between roles and find out where they are most useful. We do not believe in a static hierarchy but in a more meritocratic model where those that are active with valuable contributions thrive.
In a swarm one can be anonymous. If you have other commitments next to contributing to our swarm, you might prefer to stay anonymous. We take privacy seriously and build our model around nyms. A nym is a form of pseudonym that can be connected to a financial address. Much like Satoshi Nakamoto.
In our MIM swarm you will be rewarded with the MIM token for your contributions. Contributions can be anything from developing a virtual artist, to creating memes. If you and some fellow nym’s decide to create a virtual artist together, MIM might publish the work of this virtual artist and you will receive MIM as compensation next to royalties and other forms of profit from the virtual artist. The token will have many usages and inside the swarm it can also be spent on NFT’s, services and access to content.
In the beginning our swarm will not be a DAO but we will explore different voting systems and see how they affect our end goals. A DAO does not necessarily lead to the best result because you create winners and losers through voting. We believe DAO’s can mature and eventually become something MIM can adopt. A sample pack is a package of sounds for producers to use in their music/sound production. It takes on different forms per genre but is typically made up of one-shots, melodic loops, percussive/drum loops, sfx, designed sounds or presets for synth or fx plugins.
Selected contributions by producers will receive a donation of MIM tokens.
You can make your own sample pack and submit it to MIM. If it has not been published before and exists of 100% original material and meets the quality that MIM is looking for MIM can release the pack and give you a share of the revenue and a MIM token donation from the contributor funds.

MIM Swarmers consists of 888 unique avatars algorithmically generated with artificial intelligence.
